The committees of the school

When starting as a new student at the school all the committees seem like a jungle of possibilities. Some of the committees are constant and some only appear over a certain amount of time in shorter or longer periods depending on the content and task. We've got a varied amount of committees, e.g. culture committee, party committee, computer committee, lower cultural committee, evaluation committee, the Jesus committee, the Support Africa committee etc.

Generally the committees work under the system below:
-  All committees are open to everybody who has an interest in   participating.
- All committees can bring up issues at the School Meeting.
- All committees can choose to present the tasks worked on currently.
- One doesn't have to be an active member of a committee, but it is a great way of getting to know other students and employees
- Everybody can start a new committee.
- No committee has the right to make decisions on their own, but instead bring up good ideas and present their work at the School Meeting.

An example could be our Basketball committee, who wish to invest in a net for their game. The committee checks out prices and a place to hang it and present their ideas at the School Meeting. Together we decide on the best solution.

Committees and their economy
Some committees have a certain amount of money to their disposal. Other committees have to ask the School Meeting for money for specific arrangements and equipment. This amount will be given from a specific account belonging to the School Meeting. The committee has to seek for a specific amount and present it through the School Magazine before bringing it up at a School Meeting. First then the participants decide on what to do.
