The school has 80 employees who in cooperation with the students engage in the operation of the school.
The school is, as mentioned above, run by The School Meeting. The headmaster of the school during the past 10 years, Ejnar Bertelsen, has resigned by New Year and the school will find a new headmaster in spring 2012.
The manager of the primary and lower secondary school is Søren Bager.
The headmaster has the formal responsibility towards the responsible authorities. The headmaster of Det frie Gymnasium is an unusual headmaster and has a certain responsibility towards the School Meeting concerning the daily cooperating.
It is the headmaster's job to represent the school in different contexts. Also the job includes a responsibility towards the employees and the educational management of the school.
